Clarkson College has not always been a college. Instead, we began in 1888 as a school of nursing—the first in the state of Nebraska. Over the last 125 years, we've established a new campus, expanded our program offerings and adopted a new name. All the while, we've maintained a commitment to preparing our students to be the best in various realms of health care. Alumni

Clarkson College provides a variety of professional learning opportunities and health care courses. Our Basic Life Support, Medication and Nurse Aide courses can help individuals getting certified for the first time or needing renewal. These programs are either online or on campus with ongoing offerings year-round.

Interprofessional Education Course

The Clarkson College Interprofessional Education (IPE) course offers insight into how health care and community professionals can collaborate by developing more effective communication and leadership skills resulting in positive outcomes. The online, self-paced format consists of five modules that can be completed on your own schedule.

Learners will optimize their roles within an interdisciplinary team by completing modules that are designed to provide an overview of health care and community professionals’ roles and responsibilities. Additional training touches upon cultural competence, health disparities, health literacy, biomedical ethics and compassion. Diverse learning methods including short lectures, videos, handouts, activities and self-evaluation quizzes are incorporated into the curriculum.

Timeline

Participants have until the end of the current calendar year to complete all course activities.

Modules 1-4 include brief lectures, videos and activities.
Module 5 IPE in Practice - Participants will complete one pre-approved IPE activity along with a self-reflection.

Participants must complete the following steps to gain access to the IPE course. You will not be able to access the course or submit assignments until completing this process.
